Hi. I'm Nathan. I'm cynical and I draw things.

I grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Or, as I like to call it, the armpit of the southern United States. Being that I was tired of New Mexico long before I graduated, I got out of there as soon as I could. I went to Denver where I studied (if you can call it that) Graphic Design at the Art institute of Colorado. I graduated in March, '07, and now I'm broke. And I have to pay off loans. Now I'm 22 and living in Oklahoma City with my wife and her mother. But don't worry, her mother is only temporary until she finds a house to actually own, whereas we just rent now.

I met my wife, Liz, in high school. We've been together for five years. We got married April 19th, 2008, but our REAL anniversary is April 21st. We maintain a journal together (

giraffebear). We have two cats (Clarice Starling and Adam West) and one dog (Angel, aka "Crumpet," aka "Strange Dog.") The shenanigans are many.

Important facts about me: I'm a graphic designer by trade. I like to pretend that I'm a writer, too, and whenever I get the urge to do something about it, my stuff can usually be found at

darwins_despair. Also, like I said in the beginning of this rambling nonsense, I draw. I have a comic which is poorly maintained as well as half a dozen sketchbooks full of half-finished drawings. My first real job out of college (in fact, since my last job my junior year of high school) was in the marketing department for Kentwood Homes, where I made websites and brochures for real estate agents. Exciting, I know. Now I design book covers and layouts for a publishing company, which is ACTUALLY exciting, not fake, sarcastic exciting.

And now it's time for the random, pointless crap to make this more than just an "about me" blurb, which is boring. To the max.
